This is Harry Potter for a younger audience, and specifically for girls. The witches at Miss Cackle's Academy for Witches begin their first year on even footing - that is, except for Mildred who seems to be bad at all witch things. So it is surprising to students and practised witches alike when she fumbles through and manages to save the entire Academy from sure peril!
